Adem\u00e1s, reducir\u00e1 las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en aproximadamente un 30% en comparaci\u00f3n con los motores convencionales de doble combustible de GNL<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruiseandferry.net\/articles\/msc-europa-to-feature-worlds-first-lng-powered-fuel-cell-solution\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cruise and Ferry. 31 Octubre 2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MSC Europa ser\u00e1 el primer crucero del mundo en utilizar la tecnolog\u00eda SOFC (Imagen: MSC Cruceros)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chantiers de l&#8217;Atlantique instalar\u00e1 la primera soluci\u00f3n de pila de combustible alimentada con GNL del mundo a bordo del nuevo MSC Europa, cuya entrega est\u00e1 prevista para mayo de 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MSC Cruceros comparti\u00f3 la noticia durante la ceremonia de corte de acero del MSC Europa, revelando que el buque de clase mundial ser\u00eda el primero de los cinco de su flota en ser propulsado por GNL. El MSC Europa ser\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n el primer barco propulsado por GNL que se construir\u00e1 en Francia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desarrollado por el centro de investigaci\u00f3n franc\u00e9s CEA en el marco del proyecto PACBOAT de MSC Cruceros y Chantiers de l&#8217;Atlantique, el nuevo sistema de demostraci\u00f3n de 50 kilovatios incorporar\u00e1 la tecnolog\u00eda de pila de combustible de \u00f3xido s\u00f3lido (SOFC) y utilizar\u00e1 GNL para producir electricidad y calor a bordo del MSC Europa. El contratista franc\u00e9s Entrepose Group dise\u00f1ar\u00e1 y construir\u00e1 el demostrador, que ser\u00e1 aprobado por la sociedad de clasificaci\u00f3n Bureau Veritas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda SOFC funciona a unos 750 grados cent\u00edgrados, lo que la convierte en una opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s eficaz para las aplicaciones marinas de alta potencia que las soluciones de pilas de combustible de membrana de intercambio de protones, basadas en el hidr\u00f3geno y a menor temperatura, que ya se utilizan en el sector del autom\u00f3vil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alimentada con GNL, la tecnolog\u00eda SOFC ofrecer\u00e1 una eficiencia el\u00e9ctrica de hasta el 60% y tambi\u00e9n eliminar\u00e1 las emisiones de \u00f3xido de nitr\u00f3geno, \u00f3xido de azufre y part\u00edculas finas. Chantiers d l&#8217;Atlantique entregar\u00e1 los tres barcos restantes en 2024, 2025 y 2027.
