Strategy for Smart and Sustainable Mobility
The European Green Deal includes a greenhouse gas emission reduction target of 90% by 2050.
The Commission intends to adopt a comprehensive strategy to achieve this goal and to ensure that the EU transport sector is ready for a modern, digital and clean economy. Objectives include:
- increase the use of zero-emission vehicles
- make sustainable alternative solutions available to the public and businesses
- support digitization and automation
- improve access and connectivity.
Communication covers all modes of mobility, including maritime transport.
